Helping Le Mark School of Art Reach Students on Search

Idealite supported the Mumbai design college's admissions website and published career guides that answer students' course questions on search.

{ Project Overview }

About the Project

Le Mark School of Art (LMSA), renamed Le Mark Institute in 2025, is a Mumbai design and media college and an education division of Saffron Earth Pvt. Ltd. It teaches fashion, interior design, photography and visual communication through 40+ programs. These range from six-month certificates to three-year degrees offered through autonomous colleges affiliated with the University of Mumbai, and are taught at campuses across Mumbai and through an online school. Admissions run on inquiries. A student just out of 12th grade, a graduate or a working professional has to pick one course among dozens, choose campus or online study and reach a course advisor, and many start by asking Google. The college's site answers with course pages, brochure downloads, demo-class sign-ups and call-back forms. Idealite supported this WordPress website during its Le Mark School of Art years and, in early 2022, published guides on it that answer students' course questions.

{ How We Built It }

Development Process

How the Le Mark School of Art engagement came together, step by step.

  1. 01

    Learn the Admissions Journey

Worked from how students pick a course, by subject, level and campus or online study, through to a call with an advisor.

  2. 02

    Find the Questions Students Ask

Focused on what students search for before choosing a design course, such as options after 12th, fees, entrance exams and career prospects.

  3. 03

    Publish Career Guides

Published guides on fashion design courses after 12th and on turning a photography hobby into a profession, plus a student news post.

  4. 04

    Point Readers to Admissions

Each career guide links readers to the matching course page, and the posts carry the site's WhatsApp chat and admissions phone line.

Delivering Business Value

Technical details

Requirements, architecture, development, testing and deployment notes.

Objectives

  • Meet Students on Search: Answer the questions students ask online before they choose a design course.
  • Guide Readers to Courses: Lead readers from career guides to the matching course pages and an advisor.
  • Turn Visits Into Inquiries: Give prospective students a quick way to request a call, download a brochure or book a demo class.
  • Simplify Course Choice: Help students sort dozens of programs by subject, level, duration and campus or online study.

Requirements

  • Career guides that answer what students search for before choosing a design course, such as options after 12th, fees and exams.
  • In-text links from each guide to the matching course page.
  • A course catalog organized by subject, with a page for each program.
  • Campus and online versions of major courses, each with its own pages and calls to action.
  • Inquiry capture: call-back forms, brochure downloads, demo-class registration, WhatsApp chat and apply-now forms for online courses.
  • Course landing pages for promotions, in on-campus and online variants.
  • A blog for career guides and student news, with author accounts for staff and contributors.
  • Pages for events such as the annual Marquee fashion show.
  • Links from the main site to the online-courses subsite and its student login.
  • Content the institute's staff can update without developer help.

Architecture

  • WordPress site built with the Elementor page builder on the Kipso education theme (the Le Mark School of Art site, 2021-2024).
  • The main site, lemarkinstitute.com, covers campus programs, admissions and content. Online courses sit on a separate subsite, online.lemarkinstitute.com, whose student login ran on Thinkific in 2021-22.
  • Blog posts live on the main site, so career guides share its navigation, course menus and WhatsApp chat.
  • Course landing, demo-class and brochure pages sit alongside the catalog, and each ends in an inquiry form.
  • By mid-2021, before Idealite's evidenced involvement, the WordPress site had replaced an older Joomla/static-HTML site that had a custom /Admin back office.

Technology stack

  • WordPress
  • Elementor page builder
  • Kipso WordPress theme

Front end

  • Homepage hero with a Find a Course button and a 'Diploma | UG/PG Degree | International Courses' strapline.
  • Tabbed Campus Courses section for Fashion Design, Interior Design, Textile Design and Photography.
  • Main navigation for Campus Courses, Online Courses, Free Resources (including the blog and demo classes), Life @ Le Mark and Contact.
  • Blog posts with a recent-posts sidebar and an On Campus / Online course list.
  • Floating brochure-download and WhatsApp buttons, plus a live-chat prompt.
  • On-campus and online landing pages for major courses, each ending in an inquiry form.

Back end

  • WordPress CMS for course pages, landing pages, events and blog posts.
  • Inquiry forms for call-backs, brochure requests, demo classes and online-course applications, plus a short form before a WhatsApp chat starts.
  • Multiple author accounts so staff and contributors can publish their own articles.

Challenges & solutions

  • Students begin with questions on Google, such as which fashion course to take after 12th and what it costs, so the site needs articles that answer them.
  • Career guides have to be useful on their own and still lead readers to the college's matching course pages.
  • The catalog runs to dozens of programs across fashion, interior, textile, photography and multimedia, from six-month certificates to three-year degrees, and each needs its own clear page.
  • Most subjects come in campus and online versions, so visitors have to be routed to the right one.
  • Admissions depend on inquiries, so course and landing pages need a quick way to request a call, a brochure or a demo class.
  • Online courses lived on a separate subsite with its own student login (Thinkific in 2021-22), and the main site had to point to it clearly.
  • To stand up next to larger design colleges, the site has to show affiliations, university-linked degrees and student work.

Outcomes

  • Three posts were published in February and March 2022: 'Fashion Designing Courses: After 12th, Exams, Fees, Subjects, Colleges 2022', 'Upskill Yourself And Turn Your Hobby Of Photography Into A Profitable Profession' and a student news post on an industrial visit to Golecha Jewels in Jaipur.
  • The fashion guide links readers to the college's fashion design and B.Sc. fashion design pages and closes by presenting Le Mark's own diploma, degree and international options. The photography guide links to the photography course page.
  • The fashion guide was still live on the site in May 2024.
  • Prospective students can browse campus courses by subject (the Fashion Design, Interior Design, Textile Design and Photography tabs on the 2023 homepage) and open a page for each program.
  • Major subjects have campus and online pages, and online learners are sent on to the online-courses subsite and its student login.
  • The site runs on WordPress, so the institute's team can publish its own posts and pages.
