Supporting Nike's Global View of Launches and Store Stock

Responsible for the internal tool Nike uses to track global launches, shipping and store stock, on contract inside its engineering team.

{ Project Overview }

About the Project

Nike, the global athletic footwear, apparel and equipment company, launches products at set times in set places around the world, and its stores need the right stock when they do. Nike's internal inventory management tool handles that global distribution of inventory. It tracks when, where and at what time each product launches, and it manages shipping and inventory tracking for Nike's stores worldwide, so launch plans and store stock are followed in the same system. Because Nike's teams depend on the tool for that work, changes to it have to reach them reliably. Idealite's role: working on contract within Nike's full-stack team, responsible for the tool and its deployment.

Supporting the Tool Behind Launches and Store Stock

  • Global launch tracking
  • Store shipping management
  • Store inventory tracking
  • Launch and stock together
  • Managed tool updates

{ How We Built It }

Development Process

How the Nike engagement came together, step by step.

  1. 01

    Joining Nike's Team

    Joined Nike's engineering team on contract, working alongside Nike's own engineers.

  2. 02

    Understanding Launch Operations

    Learned how launch timing, store shipping and inventory tracking fit together across Nike's store network.

  3. 03

    Taking Responsibility

    Took responsibility for the internal inventory management tool Nike's teams rely on to coordinate launches and store stock.

  4. 04

    Delivering Updates

    Handled the tool's deployment, so updates reached the teams tracking launches, shipping and inventory around the world.
